Championship
Due to track (pit count) limitation this championship has 18 drivers including yourself. The objective is to win the championship, however a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finish in the championship will qualify you to move up to the Formula 2 championship at the end of the season if you wish.
Each ‘weekend’ contains a 20 minute practice session (although practice with Quick Drive is recommended if you dont already know the track), a qualifying session that last 15 minutes where your fastest lap determine your grid position for the race. Finally a race which lasts approximately 25 minutes. This timing was chosen to allow for each race weekend to fit within roughly a 1 hour time slot to make it accessible for people with limited play time.
Championship points are awarded for all places down to 10th and accumulate over the whole season to give you a final finishing position.
- 1st – 25 points
- 2nd – 18 points
- 3rd – 15 points
- 4th – 12 points
- 5th – 10 points
- 6th – 8 points
- 7th – 6 points
- 8th – 4 points
- 9th – 2 points
- 10th – 1 point
The AI drivers all also accumulate points over the season so try to finish as high as possible in each race. For the sake of the challenge we recommend that you run each race in the season in turn and see where you finish at the end. If you dont qualify for the next series (finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd) then rerun the season until you are good enough to move up. While it is possible to rerun each race until you get a good finish in that single race we do not recommend doing it this way.
Installation
To install this championship you will need to do the following…..
- Ensure you are running ContentManager, if not you can get it for free HERE
- Download and install the RSS Formula 2 car from https://racesimstudio.com/formula-rss-2-2020
- Download and install the championship package (the skins, tracks, mods, etc) from HERE
- Finally, with ContentManager running, install the championship by visiting HERE
If you are unsure how to install these packages into ContentManager then simply drag and drop them onto the ContentManager window. ContentManager will detect them and display three green lines in the top right hand corner. Click these green lines and select ‘Install’, it will then install anything you do not already own.
NOTE
Assetto Corsa’s AI is not perfect and while every effort has been made to ensure good racing the AI will sometimes do unpredictable things (massive pile-up at T1 for example). If this happens to you, simply exit the race and restart it. You will show in last place for exiting the race but you can rerun it to get a true finishing position.
