Remarks
This one is not your usual approach or airport. The runway is a dirt strip alongside Middle Fork Salmon River and to access it you need to fly along the river valley dropping altitude along the way. The payoff for such a difficult approach is the stunning views of the valley and river.
On my attempt I had no bleed my speed off quickly enough and therefore approached the runway too fast and as such I had to perform a go around. This is not easy here since there is not enough space in the valley to turn the aircraft around so a climb out of the valley is required and then a return to the start of the river run. Once at the start I bled speed off more quickly and simply followed the river at around 500ft AGL until I found the runway and landed.
