Our mission is to help startup gaming communities with the technology they need. In our eyes this helps take one of the largest burdens of a fledgling community (the game hosting) allowing them to work on building the community itself without having to worry about initial funding of the gaming server space they need.
Many games offer the ability for private and public multiplayer servers for use by community groups, these often require dedicated hardware and specific skill sets to create and run. The skills required to create a successful gaming community are different to that required to host the services and as such we take that role.
Why do we do it?
PioneerX’s founder has setup a ran several gaming communities over the last two decades and while some used game provided servers such as the PioneerX Alliance in EVE-Online (medium sized industrial alliance) others such as Farming Simulator 22, Assetto Corsa or DCS required dedicated hardware to run.
Building a community is HARD and having to provide dedicated server hosting at personal expense often stops people from taking the chance to build what could be epic communities. We help you take that chance by providing the basic setup you need so you can concentrate on building the community.
How are we funded?
We are funded by pure donations and when donations dont cover the costs they are provided by the PioneerX founder himself.
What can we offer?
We provide basic server hosting for a select number of games and communities. These servers vary depending on the needs of the game in question, for example an Assetto Corsa racing server can be setup using Linux and minimal server power, however DCS requires much more powerful hardware and the Windows operating system and therefore costs us more to run. Depending on what you need we will offer you the basics as long as we have the space to provide it.
How do I get server space?
We offer our server space on per application basis. You can apply for space @ How to apply. Once granted we will setup the server for you and provide both the community access (public or private) and relevant backend access to the nominated administrator. The game server is yours to administer but you MUST remain within the terms of service for both PioneerX and the game in question.
